How We Catch Up With All the Content We've Bookmarked

We all have our list of favorite websites we visit daily. Power browsers rely upon RSS feeds and aggregatorsto help sort through the myriad of content out there to serve up interesting and relevant articles. However, the issue isn't just how to find the content but how to actually find the time to read all the good stuff out there we've marked down to "read later". That's why we like to maximize those spare moments (i.e. waiting for the bus or for the doctor) for incremental catch up moments...

Pulse: one of our favorite RSS readers for mobile got even better with the announcement of the Pulse Bookmarklet. All you have to do is click here and drag the bookmarklet to your bookmark bar. And if you happen to be a Chrome user, there's a Pulse extension available. Using these bookmark options will save articles to your Pulse account and make them easily accessible later via the Pulse App.

While Pulse is great because of the mobile apps, some people prefer the larger e-ink display on their Kindles to the backlit mobile phone displays. If this is the case then check out the popular, Instapaper. This service has been around for a little while now, and functionally does the same thing as the new bookmarklet for Pulse. The biggest difference is its ability to easily integrate with your Kindle.

The third major player in the read-later website game is aptly named Read It Later. What helps separate Read It Later from the others is its focus on multimedia. Unlike Instapaer and Pulse which primarily focus on text, Read It Later has much deeper integration and support for images and video.

So if you are looking to take your website readings with you wherever you go, all three of these are great options to choose from. In the end it will come down to personal preference based on integration with third party apps and the apps you already use.
