Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are great, but, to us, the real star of Sleepless in Seattle was Sam and Jonah's dreamy floating house. This two-bedroom Shingle Style Seattle houseboat, chock full of character, may be the next best thing.

Things we love about this Property Crush:
Seattle is famous for its charming collection of floating houses, but what are they like on the inside? In the case of this fairytale, cottage-like 1976 home, the answer is: pretty incredible. Wood floors, ceilings and paneling give the space a rustic feel, and irregularly shaped doorways, windows and alcoves make it anything but builder-grade.
You can soak the day away in a 200-year-old cedar log tub (that's right) in a bathroom that also includes a pair of windows with stained glass details. Adding to the home's delightfully quirky features is the sculptural, carved-wood freestanding sink in the upstairs bedroom suite.
Of course, the biggest draw of living in a floating house is the singular view. Sunrise to sunset, the wooden patio will no doubt be the most used (and beloved) space. And when Seattle's notorious drizzle gets to be too much, you can gaze outside through the huge living room windows, cozied up in front of the wood-burning stove.
Are you on the house hunt, or just the type of person who loves browsing real estate listings, even when you're not in the market for a new home? Property Crush is a column where we feature actual real estate listings that get the Apartment Therapy seal of approval in regards to style (we haven't done home inspections or anything, so don't sue us).
