Celebrate the End of the Rainy Season with Cute Clouds

Celebrate the End of the Rainy Season with Cute Clouds

We have to be getting to the end of the rainy season, right, San Francisco? I love simplified cloud shapes (so classic! so poofy!) but don't think I could have them around the house in, say, December, knowing there were a few months of clouds and rain ahead of me. But now that sunny sundress weather is right around the corner (right? knock on wood!), bring on the clouds!

  • This cutting/serving board is especially winning to me because it walks the line between "cloud" and "scalloped". Both are welcome in my home, especially in such simple, lovely "hetre", which my friendly online translator tells me is French for beech. Tres bien. Or bon…
  • The Storm In A Teacup has been on my list of dream object for years. Only £550. If today seems to be lacking in magic or wonder, please watch the little video of this beauty in action (the fourth image down is animated).
  • I bought myself a set of these cloud-shaped candy molds (you have to scroll down to the "The Sun AND the moon and even Clouds" section, unfortunately) a few years ago and they're pretty great. I used mine to make the raw chocolate truffles from Raw Food, Real World, but was always frustrated that I didn't have the perfect white/pale blue/grey recipe. They would be ideal for making darling little soaps, I think?
  • I would love to give the Cloud Factory to a child someday. It's teeeeny (less than 2"x2"x4) and so dreamy and stylin'. And it always reminds me of "Where Do They Make Balloons?" by They Might Be Giants. (Okay, Pearson-Maron makes a Balloon Factory, too, but I love the cloud version best.)
  • Finally, cloud cookie cutters, for all your rainy day cookie-cutting needs. As they're handmade with a very nice hand-turned wooden knob, I would be tempted to display one on a little shelf of treasures.
